DISCOVERING KOREA!

For us tourists,  South Korea appears as an industrialized country with glorious culture and attractive destinations and K-pop stars.  Nonetheless, this image conjured up in my mind was given its vivid explanation and physical manifestations with my two-months stay and exploration to some of the iconic destinations in this beautiful country.

I was lucky enough to be chosen to attend the Korea-ASEAN Tourism Partnership Program (KATPP), a special 8-weeks program of the Korea Tourism Association  which runs from October 19, 2012 to December 6, 20120. This was organized to foster friendship and share tourism expertise among ASEAN countries. I am attending this with other countries such as Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Thailand, Laos, Myanmar and the Philippines. Sixteen of us were given this big opportunity and by God's grace, my humble appreciation!

I flew in on the 19th of November and was the last to arrive among all the delegates. First, let me show you the welcome sign you will see upon arrival at their award-winning airport, the Incheon International Airport.

You will immediately feel welcomed and that you know you have chosen the right year as it is their Visit Korea Year and on its last year at that!

Korea was indeed a revelation as I saw it unfold to me day-by-day! This blog was created to truly document Korea and my experiences in this wonderful country.

Now, before you see my future blogs,  I am contented staying at Stay 7 Mapo Hotel, a serviced residential hotel where I can cook and even wash my clothes. Good for long-staying guests! And it is just a few steps from the Aeogae Subway Station and so easy for me to discover Seoul!

Whew! I am here to enjoy Korea and gain new friends along the way!
