I just enjoyed the special event called A Walk With The Stars today, November 17 at the Seoul Olympic Park in Songpa-gu, Bangi-dong.
This event was organized for Hallyu (Korean wave) fans around the world by the Korea Tourism Organization (KTO). It has arranged a variety of programs featuring some of the hottest Hallyu celebrities. It featured a walking race with the Hallyu stars, a sweepstakes draw and a mini concert.
I went alone as most of my co-participants in KATPP were not interested. Good thing I had a friend who is studying here in Korea who really loves K-pop. I really do not follow the K-pop stars nor am I an avid fan but I love their music and how they influence music back in my country. Also, I want to show pics of the Hallyu stars to my only sister who is really into K-pop once I return to the Philippines. Aside from that, I also would want to personally see how they perform live and really see how the world goes gaga over the Hallyu culture. Seeing the Olympic Park was also an added reason!
Here are some of the pics!
I now saw for myself how other countries are into K-pop! and not only my country. Attendees came from all over the world literally! I saw and talked to many co-Filipinos and saw my co-Korean language student from France as well!
I even meet the Director of East Asia and Middle East Team - KTO if I am not mistaken of his exact position. I even met his superior (name I could not remember). Indeed, KTO truly acknowledges and appreciates the lovers of K-pop by organizing this event. People literally waited for this event.
Even then, I was really shocked by the paparazzi when the "walk" started. It did not occur, what rather happened was chasing the stars, lol! Who would not be? It is only in this rare event that K-pop lovers could express their love for their idols! I was thrown in the midst of the fans when I tried to take pics of the stars! See for yourself!
People really enjoyed the concert which started at 2:30pm. Before that though was the "walk with the stars" which was impossible to control as people could not be persuaded not to take pictures or get near the stars.. I was just lucky I was standing where I did not know they will pass so I was able to take some shutter shots!
I will try to upload some of my videos taken from the said event for your enjoyment perhaps in my next blog!
One surprise though was the performance of Little Psy who gave an all -out dance performance and even had to remove his shirts and performed toppless in spite of the very cold weather! Truly a professional performer at a young age!
I could now say I have seen some K-pop! Hey readers, come over to Korea as there are many shows you can watch and if luck is on your side, they maybe near performing for FREE!
