A TOUR OF KOREA IN 5 DAYS - PART 3

(This is the 3rd part of a series of blogs detailing the KTO-organized tour for KATPP participants).

DAY 1  Continuation

We passed by a souvenir store selling various handicrafts and knick-knacks. I felt particularly reflective as I saw a toy snake which moves as I used to have this during my childhood days.

We finished the Hahoe Village half past 6 pm. It was so cold it was so hard to walk. Good thing I wore a thicker jacket but this proved still wanting as I still feel cold specially when we were walking along the road along the Nakdong River.

The Hahoe Village at 6pm.

Still managed to have my pic taken at the stone marker.
Everyone moved really fast to our waiting coaster as it was getting really cold and windy. Whew, glad to be back to our comfortable coaster! We then headed to our next destination - another traditional Korean dinner!  We could not  wait as we were all hungry!

The restaurant looked like a typical old-designed Korean house. I was excited as well as the other participants as the place looked homey and inviting.

The initial setting!

The twelve course meal if my memory serves me right was so overwhelming where everyone was asking for rice already to pair it up with the meat dish. But alas, we will soon find out that it is usually served as part of the last course, lol! Now, feast on the delicious food served us:

What a dinner! We burped like it was our last supper! Korea really rocks in terms of servings! It was like a fiesta we could hardly breath - just seeing it all laid before your eyes make you full already!
It was indeed a special night and KTO surely knows how to treat its guests!  I love it!

After our dinner, we moved on and reached Ulsan City at eleven pm which will be our tour destination for the next day - the famous Hyundai industries! We checked in, as expected at Hyundai Hotel, a beautiful hotel just a stone throw away from the main gate of Hyundai Industries.

You thought my night ended that night? Good thing I was able to chat with a friend of mine from way back who is, surprisingly based in Ulsan! We have not seen each other for years and we could not wait but meet!  She picked me up at past 11pm - oh what a date - a chilly night at that! Anyway, before I show you our reunion, let me show you pics of my room I shared with a co-pax from Vietnam. The rooms were just okay yet has the seat-heating toilet.  I have seen this type in Japan before so it was not surprising but it was only in Hyundai Hotel I have seen it here in Korea so far.

My beautiful childhood friend who has lived in Ulsan for the last 16 years
and is an English teacher here earning a lot!

She gave me a slight tour as what she called it as almost establishments were closed on Monday night. She showed me the hang-out places of Ulsan. We ended up in a bar called  The Golden Eagle which was gracious enough to serve us coffee even if they do not usually offer it at that time. Good thing my friend speaks good Hangeul so it was no problem. Anyway, I was not surprised that they also speak English here as Ulsan is frequented by English tourists and foreign workers. We were the only customers left and she brought me back to my hotel at 2am after updating each other about our respective lives. I retired only after posting our pics in FB to inform our friends and relatives back home about our reunion.

Oh what a night it had been! Now, wait for my next blog detailing our 2nd day of tour!
